WE CAN BUILD
A NON-PROFIT ORGANISATION, EUROPEAN INSTITUTE FOR BUSINESS SAFETY/SECURITY STUDIES, IEESSE, HAS A EUROPE-WIDE MISSION.
IEESSE’S MISSION IS TO BRING TOGETHER ALL SAFETY/SECURITY ACTORS UNDER THE GUIDANCE OF TOP EXPERTS IN PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SECTOR SAFETY/SECURITY – DIRECTORS, MANAGERS, SAFETY AND/OR SECURITY DEPARTMENT HEADS AT PRIVATE OR PUBLIC COMPANIES – IN ORDER TO DEVELOP SOLUTIONS THAT MEET COMPANIES’ EXPECTATIONS.
One of the central missions of IEESSE is to support and accelerate the necessary transformation of the entire sector by bringing together all the private and public actors and companies educated about issues of Safety/Security.
With the rapid development of new technological solutions (Artificial Intelligence, Business Intelligence) and the emergence of significant new concerns (environmental, technological or internal security threats), there is a critical need for us to rethink Safety/Security in a holistic way.
The Safety/Security approaches of tomorrow and the establishment of effective structures to support them will come from collaboration and reflection. It is fundamental that all public and private sector actors feel they are involved in the dialogue around the major developments in regulations to improve, modify or do away with the existing rules.
We must combine human and artificial intelligence to improve the relevance of Safety/Security solutions, but also to adapt them to new requirements. The objective is to mitigate threats of all kinds, in an ever more effective manner.
IEESSE must become a permanent forum for dialogue, reflection and sharing, thereby establishing a sustainable cross-fertilisation of skills benefiting all actors across the profession.
an overly siloed profession
for a new dimension
A forward-looking approach
A taste for
and out-of-the-box thinking
Though currently relegated to the rank of fixed costs and liabilities, sold by reverse auction to the lowest bidder, the safety and security of companies should be a concern for everyone and must be rightfully recognised as such. IEESSE will lobby for increased safety/security spending.
Inspired by the Nordic and Iberian models, which acknowledge the complex critical thinking and analytical skills required in the profession of security officer, IEESSE aims to highlight their roles and empower their positions in companies. Currently suffering from a poor reputation due to a lack of proper training and scarce hiring, it is time for the security profession to be professionalised.
It is high time we left behind the State-based model. Companies should spearhead laws that move towards a better practical and pragmatic consideration of the concrete problems facing the sector.
FROM A JOB
INTO A PROFESSION.
For IEESSE, the missions of the safety officer should be a defining aspect of how companies are run. Security officers should be considered as key positions and be incorporated into the overall strategic vision. We want their voices to be heard; we want to see a change in mentality, particularly where qualifications are concerned.
IEESSE will help identify those area experts most capable of addressing the general public and media. Clarity, precision and, above all, accuracy are essential in the face of any current development or threat (urban social movements, terrorism, environmental or technological threats)
The members of IEESSE are clustered by area of expertise or sector of activity around expert facilitators, with the goal of reflecting, developing, sharing ideas and innovating on jointly selected themes.
